About the Photographer

Paromita Deb Areng

Through the viewfinder Paromita Deb Areng sees an enchanted, ethereal world washed with riots of colours and myriad shapes and forms. A native of Meghalaya, she has travelled and lived across India since a decade, and every click since then has been a step to self realisation. She calls herself a ‘Sunday Photographer’ and scours the streets and by lanes of her Maximum City (Mumbai) to capture its essence with the camera. Photography for her is a medium of expression and an outlet for creative expressions. She feels her images emote her state of mind and defines her moods. She loves working with bold colours, reflections, grains and textures and shadows . Some of her images have been published in Better Photography (photographers’ monthly) issues and she has been a finalist in the ‘Lost Flamingoes of Bombay’ Photo contest by Penguin India.” In other aspects of her persona, Paromita is an IIM Alumnus and a HR Manager with a private diversified company based out of Mumbai.
